So, I say this under the pretext that I have a scale obsession like most. I get excited when I see those numbers drop and get closer to my goal! Just this morning I took a picture of those three numbers that showed the lowest digits for me in two years. I have an extremely difficult time not weighing myself EVERY damn morning. The problem with this is that the number it shows doesn’t mean shit! Ok ok ok, it is obviously a good guideline, but again, it doesn’t accurately represent your progress.
For instance, back in February when I started my first Reagan-postpartum 21 Day Fix, after the 21 days I had only lost 3lbs! Check these photos out-
That right there is literally only a three-pound difference and wouldn’t you bet your ass that it looks 4x that. I lost about 2 or 3 pant sizes. I can’t remember exactly which it was. This is exactly why you shouldn’t rely on those numbers to define your progress. That’s not to say you shouldn’t check in on those numbers periodically, but don’t let them get you down.
I know several people who will literally fluctuate between 5-10lbs in ONE DAY. Could you imagine how discouraged you would be? So, take those before and after photos. Make sure you’re regularly taking measurements as they are a MUCH better indicator of your progress. If you don’t have a tape measure, my friend Cristy uses a piece of string each month and then tapes it to her wall to remind her just how amazing she is doing!
