It’s been a while since you’ve seen this face or check-in post. This is gonna be a long post.
For almost two years I worked out close to every day. Those who have followed me from the beginning know how dedicated I was to my fitness regimen. But.... Months back I stopped working out. It was really for no specific reason either. It started as an “I’m gonna slow my workouts down and take a break in between instead of doing it every day.” That thinking led me to taking multiple days off in a row, eventually not working out at all. I’ve been saying for months that I was going to start my workouts up again, and telling myself that tomorrow was day 1. I’m a procrastinator by nature, one of my many flaws, and that “tomorrow” has been a continuous tomorrow.
Even though I wanted to workout, truly, I did, I couldn’t get myself to follow through. My husband tried to push me several times and I kept making excuses. Well, today there are no more excuses.
I started an accountability thread in one of my Facebook groups and again, I almost didn’t follow through. But seeing all these other women and moms, with busier lives than me, show up and throw down- I couldn’t say no again. I got up and pressed play. And you know what?! Damn does it feel good!
Since I’ve been outta the game a while, I’m going back to my tried and true- 21 Day Fix. Except this time I’m following the real time version they made a few months back. It has a similar feel to 80 Day Obsession; more personality and intimacy. It’s still 60 second increments and the same moves, but the new spin definitely freshened it up. I love this program because it’s a fantastic introduction to fitness for any level. It’s a quick way to build up strength and endurance and the program I always recommend for beginners or if you’ve been out of the game a bit like me. Which, holy weakness! I definitely lost my muscle gain and stamina for sure.
We all have to start somewhere and it’s not easy by any means. I became an expert at excuses, and my body suffered the most. I’m happy to be back at it, and let me tell you one thing I’ve always learned- “You’ll never regret completing a workout.”
